I love sharing pathworkings, in real life and online, as a way of meeting with our own inner knowing to explore our stories, archetypes and the wisdom of Natural World. Active meditation, such as pathworking, requires more than a passive state of acceptance. You are encouraged to activate your creative, imaginative self and to participate in the creation of a journey that meets your needs and engages you wholly.
The pathworking journeys I create are rooted in the premise that we each know, instinctively, what medicine we require to heal and grow and to be inspired. I invite you to journey through your inner landscape, inspired by the cycles of the seasons and elements of Nature, and get to know your wild self as you deepen your connection to the Web of All Things.

What is a Pathworking?
A pathworking is similar to a guided mediation, but with plenty of space for your own wisdom and input.
The aim is not to stick rigidly to instructions and ‘get it right’ but to see where your own journey takes you; allowing your inner knowing to express itself freely within the boundaries of the journey.
Approach each moment with curiosity.
A pathworking will begin with a ‘settling in’ or ‘landing’ and end with a ‘return’; these are imaginative ways that will bring you in and out of a deeper state of awareness/consciousness.
The journey you take will be part-guided and part-open to your own will/imagination/wisdom. When you are ‘left’ to see what appears do not panic or feel you must create something amazing/unexpected/complicated. Allow your inner knowing to present you with whatever is right and accept what comes; trusting that even if it doesn’t make sense now it might in the future.
Pathworking aims to take you on a journey that allows your own unique self to speak, to guide and to emerge.

What Do I Need To Take Part In An Online Pathworking?
~ a comfortable, private space where you can be relaxed and undisturbed for the duration
~ comfortable clothes and whatever you might need to make your resting self comfortable (blankets, pillows etc)
~ an audio device to play the pathworking on and any headphones should you prefer
~ a little food and water to consume after the journey to help ground you
~ a notebook, paper and pen/pencil to record any reflections and memories after the journey.

Stay Safe
~ Only undertake a journey if you are feeling steady and secure in yourself. Times of great emotional overwhelm or physical stress or strain may not be the ideal time to embark on a journey of this kind. Listen to your body and heart and trust its knowing. If in doubt, have someone watch over you while you journey, or wait for another day.
~ If at any point during the journey you are disturbed by something from the outside, or if you ‘snap out’ of the experience unexpectedly, please take time when you can to full ground yourself and return yourself the the present moment. Eating, drinking, deep even breaths, stamping the feet and shaking the body can help with this.
~ If you find a part of your journey too overwhelming remember: you are in control! Divert the journey as needed, ask your inner wisdom for a new option or opportunity and follow the journey that leads from there. Trust that you are in safe hands: yours.
~ If it is too much to continue and you want the journey to stop, allow the images in your minds eye to fade slowly to black, drawing your awareness to each of your body parts in turn, as you slowly bring yourself back into the physical. When you feel fully in your body, focus on your breath moving in and out; if it is unusually quick or shallow, consciously work to expand the lungs and slow/deepen each breath till you are breathing steadily once more.
This should allow you to come round slowly and steadily; you can then ground yourself as normal, by eating and drinking.
When you feel ready/able, consider journalling about the experience, or speaking to someone you trust, as a way of processing what occurred. Do not be downhearted or put off! Celebrate your ability to take good care of yourself and return to journeying when you feel able.
